Live Like a Celt Day
November 4th, 2006

On November 4th, 2006 The Celtic Learning Project held a "Live Like a Celt Day" at the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Meriden, CT.

The event showed attendants (largely children) various aspects of Celtic life; important and/or sacred animals and plants, basic beliefs and societal structure, cooking, and metalworking.

One of the young particpants tries on mail armour and tests the weight of her sword.

Celtic Learning Project's, CJ May, indicates that a "clan raid" for cattle could come out from the treeline.

Near by the traveling smithy (cercha in Gaelic) is up and functioning.

Nicely outfitted with sword, mail, and shield she's ready for battle.

CJ, and the young clan members discuss strategies for thwarting the impending raid.

The forge is little more than a hole in the ground into which air is forced by twin bellows.
